END OF SEASON UPDATE
February 7, 2020
January was much warmer than usual and ducks were content to sit tight. Our clients did have some good shoots some days with limits of mallards with some broadbill and canvasback mixed in at water blinds.
Overall the season as a whole was not terrible and we killed around 400 ducks. November and December seemed much more consistent, although when a freeze came it did not last more than 3-4 days and then went back into the 40’s. Reports came in through January that lots of ducks remained in upstate New York where the season had closed. I even heard one report that thousands of ducks remained in Ontario.
My new Chesapeake Coco had her first season. She turned a year old in December and did a great job for a puppy. Training through the offseason and she will be a great dog next season.
